of Indian medical association of Northwest Indiana I am pleased to announce the
hosting of Annual gala dinner and cultural program on Saturday 17th
September, 2011 at Halls of St.George in Schererville,
Indiana. As you are aware this is
a major event attended by about 800 people which includes area physicians,
hospital administrators, local business leaders and elected officials.. We are planning for an exciting evening so
that we all can have a good time.
Theme: This year theme is” unity in diversity”. As to reflect that

instructor on the dance floor taking all through easy dance steps so we all can

Dear IMA Member:
On behalf of IMA, I wish all of you a happy, healthy, and peaceful New Year! As a member of IMA since its inception, I do recognize and appreciate the hard work done by our founding members, all the past board members, and past presidents. Because of their sincere and dedicated work, Indian physicians, and the Indian community as a whole, is now enjoying great respect, and recognition in Northwest Indiana. I'd like to take this opportunity to convey my sincere appreciation for their hard work and the gift these members have given to us and our next generation.
In the year 2010, Drs. Smita and Krishnakant Raiker, along with the board members, did a wonderful job in conducting several functions throughout the year. The highlights of their contributions are:
- Highly successful Gala, with 900 people in attendance. Having Obama impersonator Reggie Brown at the function was a super hit to a level almost everybody stood in line to have their pictures taken with him.
- IMA gave $101,000 to IACC in 2010, some as donation and other as an interest free loan.
- IMA donated $25,000 in various scholarship programs.
- Under Dr. Raiker's guidance IMA organized several medical lectures, entertainment programs like Quawali and a Chicago boat cruise.
In addition to Dr. Raiker, several IMA members worked very hard to make 2010 a successful year. On behalf of IMA, I want to convey my appreciation for all the members who made it a successful year, with special recognition for Drs. Smita and Krishnakant Raiker.
We are planning another very exciting and eventful year for 2011!
To start with, for Valentine's Day, we are going to have CNBC stars Jack Bouroudjian and Rick Santelli to talk to us and advise us on new investment strategies for the coming years. They have contributed significantly towards the program. Please show your support for them by attending the seminar along with your spouse. You will be receiving additional information about this in a separate email.
Also, I am pleased to announce, that Mrs. Nupur Arora will be working with IMA as the Executive Director. She will be helping IMA plan and organize all the activities for the year 2011. Her contact number is 219-713-4934 or email nupursarora@gmail.com. Please feel free to contact her with your suggestions and ideas.
Mrs. Soumita Bandyopadhyay has been helping IMA for the last few years as an Office Manager. She will continue to help us in that role.
I am looking forward to an exciting year and I'm sure we will make it happen with all your help.
